IRC BRUNCH @ LAMBERTI’S

Hello Runners!

The IRC will be having a group brunch here locally at Lamberti’s Ristorante and Wine Bar on Sunday 9/23.

This brunch features a $12 unlimited buffet that features Italian favorites and classic brunch items. Chicken Piccata Pizza, Fruit Salmon, eggs Benedict, lasagna, ravioli and chocolate mousse.

To make the deal even sweeter, you get unlimited mimosas or bloody mary for just $5 more!

IRC members will be running the Bimbo Global Energy race that morning and this will also serve as their after run meal. 🙂

GLOBAL ENERGY RACE

Come join fellow IRC runners running around parts of Dallas for a fun 5k or 10k

Benefiting: We are much more than just a race. This is the third time that entire families, from 23 different countries, run together in the largest sports event around the world.
Each kilometer counts, along with Grupo Bimbo and its many brands worldwide, we’ll be donating more than 1 million slices of bread to foodbanks. For Dallas it will the North Texas Foodbank.

This is not an official Irving Running Club Event – A few of us will be running in this race and decided to post it as an event so we can coordinate meeting up together. Anyone is welcome to join us.

Course Information:
The Dallas race starts and finishes at Klyde Warren Park. The course route takes runners through portions of Uptown as they run past the American Airlines Center. After crossing into the Design District, 5K runners will turn back towards downtown while 10K runners will connect onto the Trinity Strand Trail. 10K Runners continue on this urban trail through the Design and Medical Districts before turn around to head back to Klyde Warren Park

Race Weekend Schedule:
Check-in 6:00 AM-7:15AM
10 K – 7:30 AM
5 K – 7:45 AM

Parking & Services:
Parking will be available at the Children’s Museum across from Klyde Warren Park, Pre Race food (Bagels & Cereal Bars) Pre Race Warm Ups & DJ to motivate the crowd. Post race Recovery zone with yoga and massages, face paint and kids activities food truck for participants

SATURDAY LONG RUN – JAVA ME UP -9/22

About the Run – This is our long run meet up! We encourage our runners to meet here at 7 AM on Saturdays to do their individual long runs.

Location – The runners will meet in the parking lot of Java Me Up and we will begin our run from the canals of Valley Ranch that run just behind their building. The canals also connect to the North end of Campion Trail.

Time – The run starts at 7  AM, so please arrive 10-15 early.

Pace and Distance – All levels of runners are welcome to join us. We average anywhere from 3 to 20 miles on our long runs. Some do walk/run intervals, and some will run the whole distance. We typically split into different pace groups, all run together, or run individually.

What to bring –

• Water

• Post Run Recovery Snack ( Recommended )

• A good pair of running shoes and comfortable clothes.

• You are also welcome to bring a guest.

Please join our Irving Running Club Evening Runners. This group of runners like to conquer the Campion Trails and Valley Ranch Canals starting from Cimarron Park.

Location – The runners meet in the small parking lot of Cimarron Park on Northeast corner. Additional parking can be found on the Southwest corner of the park.

About the Run – Come celebrate your love for running with the Irving Running Club at Lake Carolyn in Irving TX. After our run, we’ll head over to The Italian Cafe Restaurant and Bar for a meet & greet, food, drinks, and fun. Happy hour drink specials all night for IRC runners!

Location – The runners will meet just outside of Italian Cafe Restaurant and Bar near the corner of Las Colinas Blvd and West Fork. Address – 387 Las Colinas Blvd E # 120, Irving, TX 75039

Parking – There are several free parking garages nearby. The largest garage is on West Fork just past the Italian Café with an entrance to the left of the Alesio apartments leasing center. Look for a large sign that says, “Leasing and Retail Parking Entry”. There is also limited street parking on Las Colinas Blvd. Time – The run will start at 6:30pm.

Pace and Distance – All levels of runners are welcome to join us. The distance of the run is self set but the loop around the lake is about 3 miles. Alternate routes are available for longer runs. Some do walk/run intervals, and some will run the whole distance. We typically split into different pace groups, all run together, or will run in loops so no one is left behind.

What to bring – Although hydration is provided, it is highly recommended that you bring water to take with you on the run. Other than water, make sure you have a good pair of running shoes and comfortable clothes. You are also welcome to bring a guest.

Important Note – We constantly have new members join our runs, which is great, but if you plan on joining us please use the RSVP. If you are bringing a guest, please add them as a +1. It gives us a better idea of who you are, how many people there will be, helps us plan in advance, and it also attracts new members.

IRC Field Trip – South Campion

IRC – Saturday Field Trip – South Campion Trails

About the Run:
The IRC is taking a field trip for our Saturday long run to South Campion Trails. If you are looking to change up your running scenery a bit then this is your chance. Come on out and explore Irving’s South Campion Trail starting at Mountain Creek Park.

Location:

The address given is the closest one we have found so far that is available.  Continue on  Nursery Road towards the south until the road bends to the left (East) and follow it till you see the cricket field and parking lot on the right. 

We will begin at 6 AM and start off from Mountain Creek Park and head southwest on the trail. The trail will wind along the edges of the West Fork Trinity River. You can continue on the trail all the way to the Grand Prairie Tourist Information Center next to Lone Star Park.


Time:
We will start at 6 AM and it is recommended that you try to around by 5:45 AM to give yourself some wiggle room in navigating to Mountain Creek Park.

Distance:
A one way route from Mountain Creek Park to the Grand Prairie Tourist Center is about 5.5 – 6 miles.
