Please join our Irving Running Club Evening Runners. This group of runners like to conquer the Campion Trails and Valley Ranch Canals starting from Cimarron Park.

Location – The runners meet in the small parking lot of Cimarron Park on Northeast corner. Additional parking can be found on the Southwest corner of the park.

• Post Run Recovery Snack ( Protein Shaker/Bar )
• A good pair of running shoes and comfortable clothes.

IRC Birthday & Halloween Party!

Come join your IRC family and friends and celebrate 6 years of IRC at this year’s Halloween Social!

Costumes are encouraged, but not required! You can always go as a runner!

Please bring a dish or drink to share as this is a potluck event.

The Colony Half & 5 Miler

About the Race: 
The City of The Colony & The Colony Roadrunners Club proudly invite you to run the “2018 The Colony Half and Green Dragon 5 Miler” on Oct 27, 2018. Over 50% of this 13.1 mile course runs along The Colony’s shoreline trail on beautiful Lake Lewisville. Participants will enjoy a gently undulating, crushed granite trail in a picturesque & natural setting that promises a memorable race experience for all. Get ready to run with some of your fellow IRC friends at The Colony! The Half is sold out but you can still partake in the 5 Miler!

This is not an official Irving Running Club Event – A few of us will be running in this race and decided to post it as an event so we can coordinate meeting up together. Anyone is welcome to join us. 

Awards:
Half Marathon Finishers will receive even bigger “Texas-Sized Bling” this year including a huge 4” unique, and two-sided participant race medallion and vie for their name on the coveted “Mayor’s Cup”, put on display in The Colony City Hall after the inaugural 2016 race. We will also award custom trophies to the men and women overall winners and masters winners. Additional awards include custom trophies for all age groups for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place age group winners. There are also 1/4 zip jackets this year, as well as all half marathoners receive The Colony Half Marathon 13.1 sticker to show off your accomplishment.

Parking:
We will have volunteers directing you to where to park, but the image below will help you visualize the parking set-up. Follow the directions of all volunteers. Anyone not following these directions or parking in areas other than those designated will be towed. It will not be a happy participant who comes back after running a long race to find their car, or the car of their pacer or crew, has been towed away.

Important Information:
10/27/2018 in Stewart Creek Park, 3700 Sparks Rd, The Colony, TX 75056. Gun-time is 8:00 a.m. (4 hour limit). The race is chip timed & the course is USATF certified.

PARKING: Inside the park. Volunteers will direct cars to spaces. Anyone not wanting to wait for rabbits, runners & sweepers to safely clear the park & surrounding area before/after gun-time should exit the park 30 minutes before gun-time or risk significant traffic delays. Safety first!

IRC Field Trip -Arlington River Legacy

About the Run:

The IRC is taking a field trip for our Saturday long run to Arlington to the scenic River Legacy Trail. If you are looking to change up your running scenery a bit then this is your chance. Come on out and explore a great park in our neighbor city Arlington.  

Location:

As this location is further out than our usual Saturday long run so please check the distance it is from your location and allow yourself plenty of time to make the trip.  We will meet in this parking lot.

We will start at 7 AM and it is recommended that you try to around by 6:45 AM. Please accommodate for the travel time to this location.

  • 8 miles of paved hike and bike trails winding through thick forests and expansive greenbelts
  • 10-mile mountain bike trail, built and maintained by DORBA (Dallas Off-Road Bicycle Association)
